6th for Men and 28th for Women at National Cross Relays

Saturday 6th November was the National Cross Relays at Berry Hill Park, Mansfield. With no youngsters teams Lynne Cox was the first Tipton athlete to toe the line in the Senior Women's race. Lynne came in 38th with 11.15, handing over to Amie Fithern who picked up 6 places with 11.30 and Cath Veysey picked up 4 more on last leg with 12.10 for a 28th placed finish.

In the men's race Ian Rawlinson stepped up into the A team and produced a very solid first leg coming in 26th with 15.41, handing on to Hinchy who picked up 17 places taking the team into the top ten with a 15.28 leg. Martin was our third leg man, but really struggled with the change of pace after all his marathon training and we fell back to 13th. Phil Nicholls then showed great form to clock the 8th fastest time of the day with 15.09 and charge through the field back up to 6th place.

In the B team it was great to see Jason Ward making his Tipton debut and also fantactic to see the return of Ian Mitchell in his first race since April.
