Weekend Roundup

Tipton athletes had a busy weekend with wins for Martin Williams in the Milford 21, and Mike Hager in the British Masters Cross Country Championships.

Evergreen Mike Hager ran out a clear winner in the British vets cross country championships, staged in Ruthin School, North Wales.  Early on it looked like Bristol's Nick Rose was going to give chase, but from halfway round Mike showed a clean pair of heels to take another M55 gold medal, finishing 3rd overall in the M50+ age group.  The Tipton quartet of Paul Rogers, Aaron Keene, Mark Hall and Henryk Piotrowski round off with a bronze medal in the M40's category.

Leading from the gun Martin finished this testing off-road 21 miler 8 minutes clear of his closest rival.  With 120 mile week leading into this race Martin looks to be rounding into form nicely for next months London Marathon.
